I posted this article here just in case the original post ever goes away. However I wanted to be sure that the credit stayed with the original author so I linked to the original post as well.

Because of the statement in the article "- Email this to a friend" I believe it is the authors original intent that this article should be shared. If he ever contacts me to have this removed I will of course comply.

-snip-
Before anyone can climb out of the pit of sexual sin they must reach up and grab the hand of another.
-snip-

And this is so hard because sexual sins can be so embarrassing. First you have to go against the embarrassment one might feel at the ridicule others would aim your way because they think it foolish to fight against such a thing in the first place. Then for those that believe they should fight against it, there are those this is not a big struggle for them so they think something wrong with you for having this sort of struggle.

And then there are those who I am grouped with. Those that are often afraid to be embarrassed at speaking about their weakness because of the other two groups. And because we are embarrassed we are less likely to be able to help each other with the weaknesses that we have.

I believe one of the greatest holes to be filled in the body of Christ is the shortage of laborers in the ministry of sexual recovery.

I certainly agree with his statement above. As I was reading this it was difficult for me to see the damage that I have done to myself in my own life. It is the fact that I have been surrounded by the worlds view on these things that makes it so difficult.

Just one more reason why I am grateful that I am here in the Philippines. Everyone is so much more innocent here. Things are so much more pure here. But I am not blind, I know that there is not completely sexual purity of thought. But it is 'so' much better than when I was in the U.S., at least it is for me.

I'm not saying that the U.S. is the only country in the world that has this heightened problem of perversion. The U.S. has just been in my experience the worse place for me to be if I am to try to tear myself against this terrible thing that separates me from thoughts that would draw me closer to God.

If God is love, and love is not self-seeking, then it is impossible for me focus on a life where I put God paramount and I also indulge in looking for things that satisfy me. And I am not just speaking about things that satisfy me sexually, though that is a part of it. So much more I could write here but that should be enough for now.
